Michael J. Wieland, President & CEO

More than 20 years experience in the oil and gas industry and energy financial services sector, including serving as SVP – Corporate Development and CFO for Stonegate Production Company and as VP of Corporate Development and Finance at Carrizo Oil & Gas. Prior to that he was a Director for Barclays Energy Investment Banking team after holding several positions at Banc of America Securities and Deutsche Bank Securities. Mr. Wieland holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas and an MBA from Rice University.

Howard K. Selzer, SVP, CFO

Howard K. Selzer has more than 39 years of E&P accounting and finance experience, including extensive experience in IFRS, U.S. GAAP, raising equity and debt, initial public offerings and managing finance and accounting organizations in various parts of the world. He most recently served as CFO of Freedom Oil & Gas, Reliance Holding USA, and CASA Exploration as well as CAO for Quantum Resources and its public entity QR Energy. Mr. Selzer graduated from the University of Houston with a BBA in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.

F. Octavio Saenz, VP Accounting

F. Octavio Saenz has over 20 years financial accounting and reporting experience in the energy industry as well as public accounting assurance and advisory experience. He recently served as Controller then as Vice President of Finance for Stonegate Production Company. Prior to that he was Senior Manager for Ernst and Young’s Transaction Advisory Practice focused on M&A work for the energy industry as well as Senior Manager in KPMG’s Houston assurance practice serving both private and publicly traded clients. Mr. Saenz graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a BBA in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Ken Cravens, VP Land

Mr. Cravens brings more than 30  years of industry experience to Laredo.  He was Land Manager-South Texas for Rosetta Resources and worked for Calpine after its purchase of Michael Petroleum. Mr. Cravens has a BBA from Texas State University, is member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and also the Houston Association of Professional Landmen. He is a Certified Professional Landman.

Joan W. Dunlap, VP Strategy & Investor Relations

Ms. Dunlap co-founded Petrohawk Energy Corporation, a public company that was sold to BHP Billiton in 2011. Prior to that she worked in investment banking with J.P.Morgan Chase and as a financial analyst with the Federal Reserve Bank. Ms. Dunlap has a BA in Economics from Tulane University, an MBA from Rice University, and completed a post-graduate program in Energy at Harvard Business School.

Jeremy Fontenot, VP Completions and Production

Mr. Fontenot came to Laredo with 16 years of oilfield operations experience after transitioning to Range Resources from Memorial Resource Development (MRD) where he was Director of Operations over the Terryville asset. Prior to MRD, Mr. Fontenot served as Operations Manager at RAAM Global Energy which was the parent company of three Century Exploration companies operating in the GOM, onshore California, and South East Texas. Prior to that, he spent four years at SWN covering completions in the Fayetteville Shale and New Ventures prospects after starting his career at Halliburton in South Texas. Mr. Fontenot holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Jake Folz, VP Drilling

Mr. Folz combines more than 11 years of drilling and operations experience primarily focused on the Eagle Ford Shale in South Texas. Prior to joining Laredo, he served as Senior Drilling Engineer for GeoSouthern Energy, where he was responsible for all drilling-related operations in their deep Austin Chalk asset. He previously held various roles of increasing responsibility for Stonegate Production Company and Swift Energy. Mr. Folz began his career as an MWD/LWD engineer with Weatherford Drilling Services. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Maine at Orono.
