Scott G. Stevenson
Vice President, Acquisitions
Scott G. Stevenson is Laredo Energy’s vice president for acquisitions; he is one of seven co-founders of the company and was manager for reservoir engineering at Michael Petroleum Corporation from 1998 until the company was sold. Prior to that, he served as manager of acquisitions and divestitures for Tribo Petroleum and for Tri-Union Development.
Mr. Stevenson is former co-owner of Stevenson Management, a Texas-based company that represented private investors in the acquisition and management of oil and gas properties. He launched his career as a consulting engineer with Huddleston & Co. Inc.
Mr. Stevenson graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University; he is registered with the state of Texas as a professional engineer. His responsibilities at Laredo Energy include the entirety of the company’s oil and gas reserves; he oversees preparation and evaluation of estimates for those reserves as they pertain to year end reporting, budgeting and strategic planning.
Mr. Stevenson is a member of the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), the Society of Petroleum Evaluation Engineers (SPEE), and of the Houston Producers Forum. Outside of his work with Laredo Energy, Mr. Stevenson is active in efforts that encourage meaningful research into brain injury and autism. He and his wife, Mieze, have one son, David Earl.
