Robert L. Zorich
Co-founder, Managing Director - EnCap Investments L.P.
Robert L. Zorich, a member of the board of directors of Laredo Energy, is managing director and co-founder of EnCap Investments L.P. A former senior vice president and supervisor of the Houston operations of Trust Company of the West, a private pension fund management company, he is also former co-CEO and co-founder of Denver, Colorado-based MAZE Exploration, an oil and gas development and rights acquisition company.
Prior to that, Mr. Zorich served as vice president and division manager of the Energy Department of Republic Bank Dallas, where a good portion of his tenure was spent in the bank’s London energy office, assembling project financing for major oil and gas developments in the North Sea.
He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1971 from the University of California at Santa Barbara and graduated with distinction with a Masters Degree in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management, Phoenix, Arizona, in 1974.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Independent Petroleum Association of America, the Houston Producers' Forum, Texas Independent Producers and the Royalty Owners Association. In addition to serving as a director of Laredo Energy, he also serves on the boards of several other EnCap portfolio companies. He serves as a director of Enerplus Corporation (NYSE: ERF), a Canadian oil and gas company based in Calgary, Alberta.
Mr. Zorich is an avid golfer. He and his wife, Barbara, have three children.
